Volunteer Manager


Location

Caerphilly Workmen’s Hall and home-based 

 

Purpose

To develop the volunteer base, retain volunteers, oversee training and recruitment. 

 

Main responsibilities

To oversee the effective recruitment, induction and training of volunteers. 

 

To provide leadership, management and support to volunteers. 

 

To plan volunteer rotas for events and fundraising activities. 

 

To ensure relevant policies and procedures are in place and up-to-date. 

 

Qualifications

Experience of volunteer or staff management.  

 

Support

A full induction will be provided. The Chair will be available for questions and assistance. 

Technical Assistants


Location

Caerphilly Workmen’s Hall 

 

Purpose

To assist in preparing for and providing technical support during events and to assist in installing, maintaining and operating technical equipment. 

 

Main responsibilities

To provide support in all aspects of the Technical Manager’s role, including: 

  • Setting up and running sound and lighting for bands, drama and other events 
  • Installing and maintaining technical equipment 

 

To undertake training from the Technical Manager with a view to running events as lead person on events. 

 

To undertake training in theatre practice and Health and Safety from the Technical Manager. 

 

Qualifications

An understanding of basic health and safety. 

 

An understanding of basic electrics. 

 

Some previous experience of lighting and sound would be useful. 

 

Support

Full induction and training for this role will be provided by the Technical Manager. 

Events Team Members


Location

Caerphilly Workmen’s Hall 

 

Purpose

To support technical staff at events and to ensure the safety and comfort of the performers and audience members. 

 

Main responsibilities

To ensure all areas of the Hall are clean and ready before performers arrive at the Hall. 

 

To greet audience at the Hall and carry out front of house duties. 

 

To monitor audience behaviour. 

 

To maintain safety and cleanliness as far as possible throughout events. 

 

To assist and support other members of the Events Team when needed. 

 

To assist performers and clean up at the end of events. 

 

Support

A full induction will be provided. Member of the Management Committee, Events Team and the Events Manager will be available for questions and assistance.
